06/10/23 IT IS FAITH RELATED

John 2:24-25
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

Jesus knew that man was corrupted by the sin of Adam.
Jesus knew that we all received corrupted human nature and also a totally unredeemable sinful nature.
Jesus knew He could not trust Himself to other men.
Jesus (God) has a plan to redeem and restore men to a right relationship with God, but it requires men to trust Him and obey Him. We are given a choice, which we actually do make.

We either choose to submit to Christ or we don't.
The choice is an act of faith.
Our faith takes hold of God's promise, God's offer of salvation.
Our faith rises from hearing and heeding the word of God.
Not only the faith that leads to salvation but the faith that continues in salvation is dependent on God's word.
We are born again by the word of God and we purify our hearts by obeying the word of God and we grow in grace and knowledge through the word of God.
We must continue in the word of God in order to continue in the faith.
