08/10/23 NO BRAG, JUST FACT
The Bible believer who professes to be, "saved," "redeemed," "born of the Spirit" is not boasting in his own inherent or personally attained righteousness; he is boasting the death and resurrection of Christ, he is boasting in the grace of God, he is boasting in the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Christian who professes to be pure, holy, righteous, obedient to God, faithful to God's commands is not boasting in his own inherent or personally attained goodness; he is boasting in the death and resurrection of Christ, he is boasting in the grace of God, he is boasting in the work of the Holy Spirit.
Sinners who do not know the joy of sins forgiven, mock those who profess salvation.
Christians who do not know the joy of a pure heart, mock those who profess Entire Sanctification.
Entire Sanctification is the work of God in the life of a totally surrendered believer. It is part of their salvation. It is not an extra to their salvation.
The normal Christian life is mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 5:11-22, but then the work of God that enables total victory over sin, internally and externally, is introduced in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.Be sure to read entire passage and note the shift between verses 11- 22 and 23-24. Very important.
1 Thessalonians 5:11-24
11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Do not despise prophecies.
21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
22 Abstain from every form of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
