05/26/23 DESIGNED TO COMMUNICATE

05/26/23 DESIGNED TO COMMUNICATE

God designed us and expects us to communicate with God and with other people.
It is a good idea to communicate.

We should communicate with peers and with those in authority (even parents and pastor).

BUT BE WISE AND BE LOVING IN YOUR COMMUNICATIONS.

Let folks know how things are and how you see things.
Express appreciation.
Voice concerns.

You should encourage your parents, your spouse, your children.
Pastors should encourage their parishioners.
Parishioners should encourage their pastors.

If you can't compliment those in authority, then you need to communicate with them concerning the things that bother you.
It is difficult, but sometimes your loved ones need to hear the hard things as well as the encouraging things.

You can't choose your family, but you do choose your friends and church relationships.
In either case, you should guard yourself and your family from carnal, negative influences and you should garner spiritual, edifying influences.

Remember, Jesus said we are in the world but we are not of the world. The folks we know are not always going to be kind or civil. You don't cut yourself off from all negative people but you must not allow venomous, toxic people to poison you and your relationship with Jesus or others.

If you, as a parishioner, are being blessed and built up by your pastor's ministry, you should tell him.
If you are not being blessed and built up by your pastors ministry, you should have a talk with him.
If you are not able to communicate your concerns with your pastor, then you should meet with him and spiritual leaders in your church.
If they will not be Biblical and loving then you should find a church that is Biblical and loving.

Obviously the previous principles apply to pastors as well as parishioners. The road to good communications and healthy relationships is a two way street.
