04/06/23 FOREWARNED IS NOT ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL

04/06/23 FOREWARNED IS NOT ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL

Years ago, my son (David) and I pulled up behind a car on a road, which Teed into a highway. A semi was clearly coming from our right. Suddenly the car in front of us pulled straight into the path of the big rig. We were shocked. We gasped, prayed and called 911 within seconds. But we felt so helpless. We could not stop the car from pulling out. We could not stop the big rig from barreling into the car. We could not keep the car from being "kicked" hundreds of feet in a split second. We could not rescue the car driver. We did pray and call 911. The driver of the car was knocked out of his shoes and tossed around in the hurtling vehicle. We expected him to be dead. Miraculously he lived.

Sometimes I watch as people inexplicably pull into the path of eternal danger. I watch as they pull away from the safety of a secure position into the path of sudden and inescapable destruction. All I can do is call out a warning, but often they are beyond hearing the voice of reason. They cavalierly reject the warning as if they are indestructible. I call on God in prayer. Even when God intervenes and delivers them from certain tragedy, they often move to their next opportunity for self destruction, and pull out in front of danger again. Sometimes they lose. They lose their relationship with God, they lose their family to deception and ultimately they lose their souls forever.

And all I can do (after having prayed) is watch them throw their lives away. "It hurts so bad." Ruined relationships. Wasted lives. As I said, It hurts sooooo bad.

2 Chronicles 36:15-16 NKJV
15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

Proverbs 6:12-15 NKJV
12 A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth;
13 He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers;
14 Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually, He sows discord.
15 Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.

Proverbs 29:1 NKJV
1 He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
