04/08/23 SALVATION IS LIFE IN A DIFFERENT DIMENSION
Being a Christian is not just living on a higher level, it's not just being more loyal, it is not simply being more moral. Yes, morality and loyalty and living on a higher level are included in the Christian experience but being a Christian takes our living to a different dimension, not just a different level. Being saved moves us from the realm of the natural to the spiritual, it takes our loyalty, our morality, our quality of life to a different dimension.
Whereas people who are unsaved can improve their lives, at least on the natural plane, they cannot transform their lives on the spiritual plane. God made the provision, God took the steps, God makes it possible for us to be transformed into a new creation, to be conformed to the image of Jesus, and then He freely offers us new birth and deliverance from sin. We can either accept it or reject it. Salvation is not simply a legal shuffling, it is a spiritual transformation that takes us from death to life, from darkness to light, from enslavement to sin, to freedom in righteousness. We become the willing bond slaves of Jesus Christ, devotedly bound to Him by love. We become His children totally trusting Him and fully surrendered. It is the miracle of "newness of life." There are people who say the words, who sing the songs, who go through the religious motions, sometimes believing they are believers, that they are Christians, but in reality they are still lost, they are mere imitations of a believer, shadows without substance. They want to be better but they will not trust Christ, turn from sin and surrender themselves to His Lordship because they will not give everything over to Jesus. They want to rule their own lives. They are locked into this mortal life of spiritual failure rather than lifted up to spiritual deliverance.
Jesus died and rose again to regenerate, restore and redeem us. Happy Resurrection.
