07/05/23 CHRIST'S UNDER-SHEPHERDS
Pastors are shepherds but Jesus is the Chief Shepherd. We are under-shepherds. We do the work of the shepherd for a portion of His flock.
The shepherd is a provider and a protector. Sheep need shepherds to lead them, feed them, shear them, protect them, help them, find them, restore them.
You better have a pastor who does these things. God decided how He wanted to run, care for and protect His churches. To deliberately refuse the ministry of a loving, competent pastor, an under-shepherd to Jesus, is to refuse the provision, the protection, the leading, the nurturing, the shearing that God wants to give you and your family.
If it is wrong to disregard Jesus, it is also wrong to disregard God's chosen ministry.
No one will see the dangers, opportunities, weaknesses, problems for you and your family as clearly as your pastor.
No one can protect and equip you and your family as well as a loving, anointed pastor.
To reject God's provision is to throw yourself and your family to the wolves.
It is not easy for a loving pastor to tell his people the hard truths they must know.
Make certain that you are making his job as easy and as profitable as possible.
Hebrews 13:7
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
As a pastor I have watched people turn from God's shepherding plan. They did not want to be counseled, admonished, corrected, taught, reproved or instructed in righteousness.
There is only one outcome for those people.
