11/28/23 THE GOD STANDARD

11/28/23 THE GOD STANDARD

We know what love is, if we know the God of the Bible.
We know what justice is, if we know the God of the Bible.
We know what mercy is, if we know the God of the Bible.
We know what is righteousness is, if we know the God of the Bible.

The Bible clearly describes and demonstrates God's nature, which includes love, justice, mercy, righteousness.
Christians share these the communicable traits (attributes of God) but we do not have the same unlimited authority, power or expression of God.
We are to love and be merciful, but we are not the fountainhead, the original source of love and mercy.
We are to be just and righteous, but we are not the ultimate authority, expression, executor of justice and righteousness.
God, as the Supreme ruler of the universe, shares His nature with His children, but He alone is Sovereign and Self Sufficient.

Even as Christians (believers in and followers of Christ, children of God, servants of God) we are still only human and we are subservient to God, His nature, His will, His rule.
Though we are human and not Divine, God requires us to posses and demonstrate love, justice, mercy and righteousness.
God does not demand a love, justice, mercy, righteousness that is CONTRARY to His love, justice, mercy, righteousness.

We know what Divine sovereignty is, if we know the God of the Bible; the God Who is love, just, merciful, righteous.
Divine sovereignty aligns with Divine nature and is guided by Divine nature.
Divine sovereignty does not determine Divine nature.

Christ (God with us) is our moral example. Christ lived with the same moral principles as a Man, which were consistent with His Divine nature.

God's nature and His rule are consistent and cohesive.
Confusion about God does not come from God's nature or His actions. Confusion about God comes from not understanding and believing the Biblical record and revelation of God.
