12/03/23 REMEMBER SAVING FAITH?

I miss the good old days, when folks (even unsaved folks in the community) understood that sin was wrong and that when folks got saved it meant a major and thorough change in the convert. Folks knew it was a Divine transformation and not just a moral reformation.

I remember when folks actually turned from sin, and when God actually made them into new creations. It is interesting; when people chose to believe in Jesus, Jesus changed them. They became new creations, old things were passed away and all things became new. They were filled with joy, love, kindness, compassion, spiritual fortitude. As presumption has replaced faith in the Christian community, the power of God, miraculous conversion and deliverance have disappeared and they have been replaced by dead formalism and "letter of the law religion."

Yes, there is fleshly excitement and carnal displays, which takes place in the guise of salvation but that has always been true with a segment of "the church crowd." There is holy fire and there is wild fire, but today there is a lot of smoke where there is no fire.

Contrary to popular teaching, God still wants us to choose Him, to choose salvation. When we surrender our will to do God's will, God's will, will be done. Not only can we choose to do His will, we will delight to do His will (keep His commandments and do what pleases Him), we will have the mind of Christ, we will love Him with our whole heart.

Those who deny that we can live according to His will, have no concept of salvation, or Divine deliverance and transformation. All they have is a supposed legal transaction, a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

Don't settle for a heady, but heartless religion. God wants to give you life, newness of life, abundant life, life in the Spirit.

Choose ye this day whom you will serve. Take up your cross and follow Jesus. Make your calling and election sure by presenting your whole self as a total and living sacrifice to God, that you may be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and prove, test and verify your relationship with God. Remember, the seal of God is that He knows His people and because we are His people, we depart from iniquity.
